Jowel Choufani is a Senior Research Assistant at the Environment and Production Technology Division (EPTD) at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). Jowel is a licensed dietitian and has an MSc in Nutrition for Global Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Jowel’s role in G-CAN is to provide nutrition expertise on entry points for nutrition in projects related to climate change and agriculture and support nutrition-sensitive program planning. Prior to joining IFPRI, Jowel worked at the American University of Beirut (AUB) on a school-feeding program in refugee camps in Lebanon which aimed to improve child nutritional status through improving dietary diversity and household food security. Jowel was also a consultant for the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) where she led trainings on digital data collection and analyzed data on access to health services and household food security of different refugee sub-populations in Lebanon.
