Stakeholders from across Nigeria came together to explore how gender and nutrition can strengthen climate action and unlock new partnerships and policy pathways. Under the GCAN initiative, the Environmental Care Foundation (ECF) and Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil (ADUST) convened a national workshop on December 6, 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria. The workshop brought together representatives from federal ministries, academia, and civil society to advance the integration of gender equality, women’s empowerment, and nutrition into climate change and agricultural policies. Through technical presentations, state-level updates, and a multi-stakeholder panel discussion, participants highlighted the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration and stronger institutional linkages. Workshop participants recommended GCAN expand its activities beyond the two states in Nigeria and align its objectives with civil society organizations to support stronger community engagement.
