STATE-LEVEL CONSULTATIONS ON CLIMATE-RESILIENT AGRICULTURE IN ODISHA, INDIA

Watershed Support Services and Activities Network (WASSAN) organized two state-level thematic consultations in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, in March 2026 under the GCAN Initiative. The consultations focused on the role of climate-resilient agricultural practices and natural resource management in advancing climate change adaptation, gender equality, and nutrition security.

The first consultation, held on March 11, convened stakeholders from government, civil society, academia, research institutions, and communities to discuss findings from Participatory Rural Appraisals conducted across four regions of Odisha. The second consultation, held on March 18, focused on land and water management, forest conservation, and livestock sustainability, with discussions centered on policy implementation challenges and opportunities.
